Estonian ballet and cultural community is grieving the loss of Mai Murdmaa (31.03.1938–24.03.2026).
Mai Ester Murdmaa, born 31.03.1938, was an Estonian ballerina, renowned choreographer and director, long-time director of the Estonian National Ballet, member of the Estonian Theatre Union and the Estonian Directors' Union, and honorary member of the Estonian Ballet Union.
Heartfelt condolences…
On Wednesday, April 1 at 13:00, a public memorial event dedicated to ballet legend Mai Murdmaa will take place in the auditorium of the Estonian National Opera. The auditorium doors will open at 12:30. The memorial event will be held from 13:00 to 13:30. A book of remembrance will be available.
The memorial event will be followed by a farewell ceremony and burial at Metsakalmistu cemetery at 14:00. Wreaths and flowers are welcome.
